Dehiattakandiya

Mahawanawela, Dehiattakandiya - where I spent the first four years of my career life, nearly 250km away from family members and the friends. From the November 2004 upto August 2008...

The rising sun over the paddy fields and cultivated paddy fields.... These lands supply rice to the nation, harvested with the sweat and the tears of the innocent people, they do feed the nation!!!
Tha Mahaweli river, through the Mahaweli scheme supply water for these lands.

The Oldest Building

Probably the first building of the District Hospital, Rakwana. Thought the written history cant be found, this building must have been here for more than hundred years. Today, serves as an Clinic Building....

Misty Mountains

Misty mountains near the Haputale city. These were in the morning of the Haputale, Welimada road.

Several times, we happened to travel to Trinco, all the way from Rakwana, for the transfer of my wife - thanks to the idiotic policy makers and the government!!!! These were taken on such trips.  As we were coming back in the evening, Kantale tank was like this, waving to the setting sun!!!

Siriya - Sad on Lalitha's Retirement

Siriya, a member at the District Hospital, Rakwana

Concert - District Hospital, Rakwana

This year, we had a concert at the District Hopital, Rakwana, to exhibit the hidden talents of the staff members and their family members. It was really nice, better than expected. The performers and also those who sweat to make it a success did very well. This is how we prepared our selves, how we made the stage, how we practised and on... Every thing is done by the staff members of the hospital. They were prepared to work beyond the normal working hours....

Lalitha Retirement

Kapuge Punchimenike - Lalitha Miss on her retirement day, farewell party at D.H. Rakwana. One of the most understanding characters I have ever met. She knew what is happening and why it is happening in the way that it is happening and her life time experiences were enough for her to predict what is going to happen.....

It was a happy day!!!  Retired at the age of 60, she is going to start her life over, again with new refreshed energy!
Happy Retired Life!!!

Iftarr Festival, Rakwana

Rakwana Muslima population invited a lot of Sinhala and Tamils to take part in their Iftarr Festival last year. We all were treated what they eat in the way that they eat it. That is all were seated in the carpets. The meals were delicious and most of it the concept is even more appreciating. This multilingual and multicultural nature of Rakwana is just one thing that fascinates me. They all live in perfect harmony and happiness as long as the corrupted politicians are not involving in the affairs......

Even there are families with mixed, inter rational marriages and they do live in peace, celebrating all the festivals.....
